Editorial
In 2012, the Editor, the Department of Agri-food Systems Protection (DiPSA) - University of Milan, come to the decision to move from the paper version to the online open access version of JEAR, with the aim to reach all researchers in the field with a restyled editorial, and with Giuseppe Carlo Lozzia as Editor in Chief (2012-2014).
Thanks to the contributions of prestigious scientists and young researchers from all over the world, the Journal published many papers, which were downloaded in numerous countries across the world. Recently, the new Editor, the Department of Food Environmental and Nutritional Sciences - University of Milan, named me as Editor-in-Chief and I happily accepted the invitation with the objective to give new energy to the JEAR through the publication of more and more research papers of recognized scientific quality. The Journal will maintain its actual structure with four subject areas steered by internationally recognized Section Editors, who are now supported by a new and larger Editorial Board.
The JEAR publishes papers on systematics, geographical speciation and evolution, aquatic and terrestrial entomology, ecological system dynamics, phenology and modelling for integrated pest control, agricultural and stored product pests, urban veterinary and forensic entomology, plant insect interaction and ecosystems, biological control and agro-ecology, and all other subjects related to the four subject areas.
I hope the journal will continue to receive the attention of the researchers, in particular our younger colleagues in whose hands is kept the future of the modern Entomology and Acarology.
Finally, I would also like to thank the former Editor-in-Chief, prof. Lozzia, and all the colleagues who have worked for the journal and all the colleagues who will share with me the responsibility to promote the scientific growth of the JEAR; a stimulating project.
