About the Journal
Italian Society for Microscopical Sciences - www.sism.it
Microscopie is the official organ of the Italian Society for Microscopical Sciences (SISM). The Journal was founded in 1954 and published until 2004 under the title "Microscopia Elettronica".
Microscopie presently publishes original articles concerning any kind of microscopical and imaging techniques, in the field of Life and Material Sciences, with special attention to articles on newly developed or originally applied microscopical techniques. The Journal also publishes information on the Society activities, and advertisements of the main Italian and international events on microscopical sciences.
The journal accepts scientific manuscripts as well as reports on new instruments and technological applications by authors from public institutions or private companies of any Country, irrespective of whether or not they are fellows of the Italian Society for Microscopical Sciences.
Microscopie aims to be a forum for all those scientists who are active in the field of microscopy, and is especially intended as a platform for young microscopists at the beginning of their scientific career. Thus all the submitted manuscripts that are accepted after peer-reviewing will be published free of charge.
